Discovering Latin America Film Festival

With much success, the 4 th Discovering Latin America Film Festival opened on November 24 at the Chelsea Cinema in London. Viva Cuba was the feature chosen for the occasion. The film, beautifully directed by Juan Carlos Cremata, tells the Romeo & Juliet-style story of a boy and a girl from Havana who tour across the Cuban countryside searching for the girl's father (to avoid her departure from the island). It was a huge success with the audience that packed the venue and later followed for drinks at a nearby club.

This year's festival includes 40 films from 13 different Latin American nations. Among them is Josue Mendez's Days of Santiago (Peru, 2004). A Q&A with the director will follow its UK Premiere this Friday 2 nd December (6:30pm) at the Ritzy Cinema in Brixton. We strongly recommend everyone to attend.
